La Trinité sur Mer, the Auray Region and the Morbiahn Gulf in 7 days
We are sometimes asked what are the sites to absolutly see during a stay in La Trinité sur Mer.
We have devised a 7 day program of which that you will find the details at the reception at Camping de la Plage, during your stay. Today, we will talk about the first day, with a visit to La Trinité sur Mer and Carnac.
To keep your mouth watering, for the next days we offer the Quiberon peninsula, Locmariaquer and a cruise in the Morbihan Gulf, Auray – Brec’h and Sainte-Anne d’Auray, Vannes, Belle-Île en Mer, the Etel River and Port-Louis, Hennebont and the Blavet River.
World famous port, La Trinité sur Mer has become the meeting place for sea lovers and famous skippers.
From the qay side, the port gives an always changing view. Before that, the Kerisper Bridge offers an exceptionnal view both of the large Quiberon Bay, and also of the oyster farms in the mouth of the river.
You must also take a walk around the little streets surrounding the church and discover old fishermen’s or captain’s houses, or the rue de la Caserne, in which the customs offivers lived. In the church, don’t miss the 17th century alterpiece.
From the campsite, the best way to go is to take the superb sentier des douaniers, the costal path that follows the coast from the beach all the way to the port. There, you can see theQuiberon peninsula and Belle-Île en Mer, the impressive “house of the customs officers” with its stair-shaped roof, and the lovely holiday homes that border the beaches (easy access path, even with a push-chair, around 45 minutes),
On Tuesday mornings and Friday mornings, a visit to the market is a must.
Advice : visit an oyster farm, or the salt marshes outside the campsite.
