In May...

Fête de La Bretagne

Several hundred events for the general public are programmed throughout Brittany: bagadoù (traditional Breton music bands), street art, fest-noz (traditional music festivals), concerts, exhibitions, storytelling walks, plays, markets ...

A multitude of events to celebrate both tradition and culture, but also modernity and creativity in Brittany.

For 10 days, La Fête de La Bretagne, "Gouel Breizh", invites you to discover our region in a festive, sharing and friendly atmosphere.

La Semaine du Golfe (The Gulf Week)

The Gulf of Morbihan hosts an internationally renowned nautical event every two years.

The Semaine du Golfe is a great maritime festival where old rigs, traditional boats, three masts ships and other large ships come from all over Europe to sail together on the waters of the "little sea"(mor bihan in Breton).

The various ports welcome the flotillas and host numerous festivities: concerts, balls, catering, and other entertainment ...

Don't miss : the two nautical parades which open and close the Gulf Week. The view is exceptional and you can admire it from the paths and beaches which follow the coastsline and the islands.

From June...

Photography Festival in La Gacilly

From June to September, the village of La Gacilly organizes an outdoor photography festival which brings together more than 300,000 visitors each year.

The walls of homes, streets and gardens become art galleries with hundreds of large-format photographs signed by renowned photographers.

The free access allows everyone to discover the exhibitions in this magnificent village, a city of craftsmanship, at their own pace.

A festival committed to the protection of the environment, the chosen themes highlight the relationship between man and our planet.

Mor Braz Photography Festival

From mid-June to the end of October, several towns in the Quiberon Bay area take part in Escales Photos, a free and open-air exhibition.

The history that links the people of Morbihan to the sea is told through large format photo reports, installed in the town streets and are set up in the form of photographic routes.

The exhibition places are to be found in La Trinité sur Mer, Plouharnel, Locmariaquer and on the islands of Quiberon Bay (Belle-Ile en Mer, Houat and Hoëdic).

Les Milles Musicaux - La Trinité sur Mer

Opera, piano concert, jazz, concerto ... The programming of the Milles Musicaux allows the general public to discover and appreciate various musical universes and repertoires.

To meet young talents or prestigious artists, this is a series of classical music events you do not want to miss in La Trinité sur Mer.

In July and August...

Jazz en Ville Festival

For jazz lovers, this is a 100% free festival which takes place in Vannes in July!

During a whole week, the city swings with nearly 70 concerts ...

Internationally renowned artists perform on the stage set in the ramparts gardens of the medieval city.

Jazz en ville also takes place in the streets with concerts in bars and clubs, entertainment such as tea-time jazz for young children, meetings with musicians, national jazz auditions to reveal new talents ...

Jeudis en fête ("Celebration Thursdays")- Saint Goustan

Creative workshops for all ages, fun circuits, street shows... : Welcome to "Jeudis en fête" in the charming little port of Saint Goustan, in Auray

From 5 to 8 p.m., lots of entertainment for the whole family and from 8 p.m., it's on with the concerts.

Take the opportunity to stroll in the streets behind the port or walk the old stone ramps (Rampes du Loch) which overlook the river facing Saint Goustan!

Pardon at Sainte Anne d'Auray 

With over 800 saints and thousands of chapels and churches, Brittany is the place of many pilgrimages, which are called "pardons".

The great Pardon of Sainte Anne d'Auray, the most important in Brittany, takes place on 26th July and welcomes around 20,000 faithful each year.

Like all pardons, it has a procession with statues and reliquaries during which the traditional costumes and banners of all the different Breton parishes are put in the spotlight

Folklore Festival - Saint-Philibert

Don't miss this other traditional festival, which takes place a few minutes away from the campsite during the second half of July: the Breton festival of Saint-Philibert.

On the menu : the Parade of th Bagads (Breton music bands) and other Celtic groups, from the town hall to the chapel of Saint Philibert.

Then traditional music and dance groups follow one another on the stage, set up on the banks of the river Ster, near the chapel.
The setting is magnificent, the event is convivial and the fireworks display, superb! Go for it !

Skedanoz 

Skedanoz, the nights of the megaliths, take place in the unique archaeological site of the Carnac standing stones alignments, 7000 years old and containing nearly 4000 menhirs.

The standing stones near the village of Le Ménec are put on display at night, through a sound and light show where historical and legendary tales mix.

At the end of July, these magical evenings are an invitation to discover the our region's distant past in a different way ...

Détour d'Art

As in all of Brittany, the religious heritage is very important in Morbihan: festivals and processions, chapels and churches, fountains and calvaries ...

To discover sacred architecture, the Auray County organizes each year from July to mid-September, the "Détour d'Art" event during which the chapels of the Alréan countryside open their doors and reveal all their richness .

Guided or free tours are organized in more than 20 monuments.

Historical Festival and "Fêtes d'Arvor" in Vannes

Two summer meetings in Vannes around Brittany's history and culture.

In the middle of July, the city of the Venetians relives a period of its past with the Historical Festivals. Hundreds of participants, historical reconstructions, street shows, costumed processions enliven the streets and ramparts of old medieval Vannes.

Around the 15th August, the Fêtes d'Arvor festival celebrates Breton tradition through music, songs and dances.

On the menu : folk groups, fest-noz (evening Breton music festival), parades in Breton costumes, fireworks on the ramparts as well as the election of the Queen of Arvor and her runners-up.

Fête du Thon (Tuna Festival) - Etel

An important tuna-fishing port during the last century, Etel celebrates its maritime past during its annual tuna festival.

On the menu : a floats parade, traditional groups (bagads and Celtic circles, brass bands and pipe band) and of course, grilled tuna!

A fireworks display closes this beautiful traditional celebration that has existed since 1930.

Things to do: visit the tuna museum which retraces, through its exhibitions, the life and history of the sailors from the Etel area.

Festival Interceltique (International Celtic Festival)

It is THE event for fans of Breton and Celtic culture.

In August, it brings together thousands of dancers, singers, musicians from around the world to celebrate the Celtic nations.

Concerts, parades and shows punctuate the 10 days of the Interceltic Festival in the city of Lorient.

Don't miss the Great Parade of the Celtic nations which closes the event.

More than 3000 artists, dancers and musicians, parade through the streets of Lorient with traditional costumes and traditional musical instruments.

Fête de l'huître (Oyster Festival) - Locmariaquer

This annual celebration takes place during the second half of August in the port of Locmariaquer, the "Oyster City".

For gourmets, oysters from local oyster farmers can be tasted throughout the day.

For fans of Breton culture, sea shanties, traditional music and dances are also on the menu of these festivities.

Do not miss: the oyster opening contest and the big fest-noz (night time Breton music festival), which lasts until late at night ...

It is a beautiful immersion in tradition, that can be lived to the fullest !

Les Galettes du Monde ("Pancakes of the World") Festival

taking place the last weekend of August, this is a festive event that combines music, craftsmanship and gastronomy at Sainte Anne d'Auray!

The idea behind Les Galettes du Monde Festival ? to discover the culture of countries from around the world through the astonishing variety of their pancake recipes.

A great moment of exchange, sharing and cultural discovery with, in addition, a whole musical program, folk songs and dances as well as local crafts.
