Nature weekend in South Brittany

The campsite and its activities

      • Why choose a low-season weekend in Morbihan?

      • May, June and September are a beautiful time for a nature getaway in South Brittany. The light is soft, the long sandy beaches are peaceful, and the coast slows down to a gentle rhythm.

Need a break from everyday life?

Leave your watch behind. Whether you travel in a van, with family, or you are looking for a quiet pitch for your campervan, set your bags down at Camping de la Plage.

Here is our suggestion for a fully relaxing seaside weekend.

      • Saturday – Sea air, heritage and slow travel

      • Wake up by the water

      • From your mobile home or pitch, enjoy direct access to Kervillen Beach.

It is a real paradise for sea lovers and a safe playground for children. At low tide, try shellfish gathering as a family. At high tide, enjoy a peaceful morning swim.

Our little tip: stop by the Kervillen grocery next door for coffee and warm croissants, and enjoy breakfast with your feet in the sand.

      • Morning: to La Trinité-sur-Mer, the soft way

      • Once breakfast is over, forget the car. Reach the harbour of La Trinité-sur-Mer by renting a bike at reception or by following the coastal path.

This easy path goes around the Kerbihan headland and then along the channel with its small quiet coves.

      • On the quays, take time to admire the impressive racing multihulls, especially numerous in spring during regattas.

      • Lunch: follow your mood

      • At midday, soak up the harbour atmosphere on the terrace of a brasserie, crêperie or traditional restaurant.

Then return via the marked route through the old village.

Another option: head back along the coastal path and have lunch with your feet in the sand at Les Terrasses de la Plage, just 150 m from the campsite – the perfect spot for a seafood platter facing the bay.

        • Carnac - thibault poriel - oti baie de quiberon tourisme
        • Afternoon by bike: Carnac, between menhirs and ocean

        • It is hard to stay here without visiting the Carnac standing stones, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2026.

Switch to bike mode and follow the cycle path from La Trinité, an enjoyable and safe 15‑minute ride.

On site, the tourist train offers an easy, commented tour of the alignments.

        • More in the mood for maritime vibes?

Head to the Anse du Pô to visit the oyster farms and taste local oysters.

        • On the way back, ride through the seaside resort, stop for a treat at L’Igloo – the famous ice-cream shop with 180 flavours – then follow the Grande Plage to take in the sea air.

          • Evening lulled by the ocean

          • Our philosophy is simple: staying at Camping de la Plage means enjoying guaranteed quiet nights, with no noisy evening entertainment.

To end the day gently without taking the car, have dinner at Les Terrasses de la Plage. The menu showcases local produce, and the sunset over Quiberon Bay is the perfect backdrop for your aperitif.

Prefer to snuggle up on your pitch or in your mobile home?

Beach Pizz snack bar offers great takeaway options, and the Kervillen grocery is there for last-minute shopping. After that, only the sound of the waves matters.

          • Sunday – Between gulf and river

          • patrice baissac - OTI baie de quiberon tourisme
          • Morning in Locmariaquer

          • Take the car for about 15 minutes. Start slowly with a coffee on the terrace of the small harbour of Locmariaquer.

Then step back in time in front of the Grand Menhir Brisé, an impressive granite giant on the megalithic site.

Finish the morning at the Kerpenhir point, where the currents of the ocean meet the waters of the Gulf of Morbihan.

          • saint goustan - alexandre lamoureux - oti baie de quiberon tourisme
          • Afternoon in Saint-Goustan (Auray)

          • Continue on to Auray (20 minutes away). With its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses, the port of Saint-Goustan has kept all its old-world charm.

After lunch on the quays, walk along the river and enjoy the view.

Then gain some height by taking the Rampes du Loch, a path leading up to the upper town with beautiful panoramas.

Wander through the old streets around the Place aux Roues, then head back down the Rue du Château, known as the artists’ street, and step into the local studios.

          • Relax before departure

          • Back at the campsite, stretch out the holiday feeling until the very last minute. A few laps in the heated pool or a moment in the jacuzzi in our aquatic area: the ideal way to unwind before hitting the road again.
