Events and tourism in Morbihan

      • The harbour at La Trinité-sur-Mer comes alive for its 15 August festivities, the Carnac alignments light up every night for Skedanoz, and Lorient hosts one of the largest Celtic gatherings in Europe.

        The campsite remains your base, within easy reach of every one of these events.

        Plan your days as the mood takes you, beach in the morning, outings in the evening.

      • La Trinité-sur-Mer: regattas and the 15 August festivities

      • In August, the harbour at La Trinité-sur-Mer runs through three events, 1.5 km from the campsite along the coastal path.

         

        • Rallye Challenge Kerviler :g major regatta organised by the Société Nautique de La Trinité-sur-Mer, 8 to 9 August
        • Les Voiles de la Baie de Quiberon : regatta starting from the harbour, 15 August
        • La Trinité-sur-mer en fête : morning mass and procession, free family activities (inflatables, traditional Breton games, children's workshops) from 2pm on the Esplanade de la Capitainerie, concert by Celtic rock band Les Vrillés at 9pm, fireworks at 11pm on a cinema theme, 15 August

      • Carnac carries its programme of shows and projections into August, with a highlight around the alignments.

         

        • Festival place aux mômes : free children's shows at the open-air theatre, every Tuesday at 6pm until 25 August
        • Festival du conte : storytelling performances and guided walks at la petite métairie, in the heart of the alignments,  29 July to Sunday 2 August
        • Skedanoz: sound-and-light show on the standing stones of the Ménec alignments, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25 and 26 August at 10pm and 10.45pm
        • Troc et puces : car boot sale, 9 August


        Allow a quarter of an hour by bike from the campsite, along the cycle path linking the 3.5 km to Carnac.

      • Locmariaquer: the oyster festival

      • A few kilometres from the campsite, between the Baie de Quiberon and the Golfe du Morbihan.

      • Auray, Lorient and Vannes complete the cultural and sporting programme of South Morbihan.

        Half a day is enough to wander around the Saint-Goustan harbour in Auray; for Lorient and Vannes, allow a full day instead.

      • The local markets also set the pace for August in South Morbihan.

        A Tuesday morning in La Trinité, a Thursday evening in Carnac, a Sunday in Auray: every day has its own event.

         

        • La Trinité-sur-Mer makers' market: Place du Voulien, every Tuesday from 8am to 1pm, June to September
        • Locmariaquer evening craft market: by the harbour, every Friday from 5pm to 10pm
        • Carnac-ville evening craft market: every Thursday at 6pm in the streets of the town centre
        • Carnac-plage evening market: every Tuesday from 5pm to 8.30pm, Place Port en Drô

      • Is the 15 August fireworks display visible from the campsite?

         No. It is set off at 11pm at the harbour in La Trinité-sur-Mer, 1.5 km from the campsite. Back at your pitch or mobile home, you'll find the same calm as ever, with no noisy entertainment organised on site.

         

        How do I get to the 15 August festivities without a car?

        The summer Glazgo Mobilités shuttle serves the campsite: line E8 links the Kervillen campsites to the town centre every 30 minutes, line E7 connects Carnac to La Trinité every 20 minutes. Fares are €1 per journey or €2.50 for a day pass, tickets available on board or via the Tixipass app.

         

        Is traffic disrupted on 15 August in La Trinité-sur-Mer?

        Yes, the Cours des Quais is closed in sections during the day, notably from 6pm to 11.30pm for the concert and fireworks. Outside these times, the campsite remains easy to reach by car, bike or shuttle.

         

        Should I book August events in advance?

        It depends. Some events fill up fast (Festival les Galettes du Monde in Sainte-Anne-d'Auray or Skedanoz in Carnac). Others stay free and open access, such as La Trinité-sur-mer en fête or the Festival Place aux Mômes in Carnac.
