Our commitments for a greener campsite

What's on at La Plage

      • Dear campers,
Because we are fully aware of the exceptional natural setting of our campsite, we are committed to strengthening our environmental efforts year after year.

To do so, we multiply our initiatives to reduce our ecological footprint and support biodiversity within the campsite itself.

Through concrete actions, we work every day towards more sustainable tourism.

A successful holiday is also one that respects the nature that welcomes us

      • The Green Key eco-label

      • The whole team at Camping de la Plage is proud to have once again been awarded the Green Key label in 2026.

We are one of over 3,000 establishments in France committed to sustainable tourism and eco-friendly hospitality.

This label, known internationally as "Green Key", was created in Denmark in 1994 and is now present on every continent. Developed in France by the Teragir association, it recognizes our dedication to sustainable practices, such as waste sorting and environmental protection.

      • Water recycling & solar lighting

We are gradually replacing all our outdoor lighting with solar lamps to reduce energy use.

We’re also implementing solutions to save and reuse water: water from our swimming pool and collected rainwater is recycled and used to supply our toilets.

These concrete initiatives are part of our ongoing commitment to minimize our environmental impact.

      • Nest boxes to protect biodiversity

We’ve installed birdhouses around the campsite for great tits as well as bat boxes. These small shelters offer safe nesting and breeding spaces, while protecting wildlife from predators.

They also provide a lovely opportunity for quiet observation by young and old campers alike!

      • Cigarette butts: a solution for recycling

Cigarette butts are a major source of pollution along the coast. To help keep our environment clean, we’ve partnered with the company MéGO!, which specializes in collecting and recycling cigarette butts.

      • How does it work?

Start with a simple habit: we invite all our guests to dispose of cigarette butts only in the designated collection bin.

These are then collected and sent to the MéGO! factory, where they are decontaminated and recycled, notably into urban furniture.

A simple gesture for a cleaner environment and a second life for this waste!

      • Daily eco-gestures at the campsite

      • Adopt composting

A composter is available near Sanitary Block 2. According to organic waste recycling standards, you can deposit fruit and vegetable scraps, peels, eggshells, coffee grounds (with filters), tea bags (without cardboard), rice, nuts, etc. If you’re unsure about what can go in, feel free to ask our team at reception!

      • The herb garden – cultivating nature at the campsite

Right next to the composter, you’ll find our herb garden. Add a burst of flavor to your meals and barbecues with thyme, rosemary, dill, and many other fresh herbs.

We kindly ask that you pick gently and leave enough for fellow campers to enjoy as well.
